Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by Tagaste LLC (“Tagaste Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including the tagastelabs.com website and the Tagaste Front Desk voice service. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Tagaste Front Desk is an AI-powered voice service that answers phone calls on behalf of Catholic parishes. The service uses artificial intelligence to understand caller requests, provide information, take messages, and route communications to parish staff.

The service is designed to assist parish operations. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, spiritual direction, or emergency services. In case of emergency, callers should dial 911.

2. Account Terms

To use Front Desk, an authorized representative of a parish or Catholic organization must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our services to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Engage in fraud, harassment, or abuse
• Transmit malware or interfere with service operations
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Use the service for purposes unrelated to parish or Catholic organization operations
• Resell or redistribute the service without written authorization

4. AI-Generated Content

Responses provided by the Front Desk AI are generated based on information provided by the subscribing parish and general knowledge. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors. The subscribing parish is responsible for reviewing and maintaining the accuracy of the information provided to the system.

The AI does not provide pastoral advice, spiritual direction, sacramental guidance, or medical or legal counsel. It answers operational questions and takes messages.

5. Call Recording and Consent

All calls to Front Desk lines are recorded and transcribed. Callers are informed of this at the beginning of each call. By subscribing to Front Desk, you authorize us to record and transcribe calls made to your designated phone number and to provide those recordings and transcripts to your authorized staff through the dashboard.

You are responsible for complying with all applicable federal and state laws regarding call recording in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and state all-party or one-party consent laws.

6. Fees and Billing

Front Desk is billed monthly at the rate specified at the time of subscription. We offer a 30-day free trial for new subscribers. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

7. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you provide to us (parish information, staff directories, schedules). Call recordings and transcripts generated through the service are jointly owned: you have full access and export rights; we retain a license to use anonymized and aggregated data to improve our services.

8. Intellectual Property

The Tagaste Labs name, logo, and all associated trademarks, software, and documentation are the property of Tagaste LLC. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without written permission.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable advance notice. We are not liable for service disruptions caused by third-party providers, network outages, or force majeure events.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tagaste LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tagaste LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your subscription through the dashboard or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to our platform or other users. Upon termination, we will make your data available for export for 30 days, after which it will be deleted.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify subscribers of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Contra Costa County, California.
